Eduardo Marques é um investigador pós-doutoral na Unidade de Processos Avançados de Ligação (UPAL), uma das unidades de investigação do INEGI. Obteve o seu doutoramento no estudo de juntas adesivas para uso em aplicações aeroespaciais, otimizando o projeto das mesmas para suportar condições de impacto e grandes diferenciais térmicos. Publicou 82 documentos como autor e as suas obras foram citadas 1089 vezes correspondendo a um índice h de 19. Ao longo deste trabalho desenvolveu vastas competências na área do comportamento dinâmico de estruturas compósitas e metálicas, analisadas com abordagens experimentais e numéricas. Neste momento é investigador principal de um projeto financiado pela FCT com o objetivo de desenvolver metodologias avançadas para o projeto de ligações estruturais para a indústria automóvel. Está envolvido na organização de conferências sobre materiais e ligação adesiva, sendo membro do comité científico das conferências "International Conference on Structural Adhesive Bonding - AB", "International Conference on Industrial Applications of Adhesives - IAA" e a "Ibero-American Conference on Composite Materials - IAMaC". É editor associado da revista "Journal on Teaching Engineering" e membro do conselho editorial da revista "The Journal of Adhesion". Efetuou três pedidos de patente, principalmente incidindo sobre métodos de produção e ensaios de ligações adesivas estruturais. Realiza trabalhos de consultoria para empresas nacionais (por exemplo, Bosch Termotecnologia, Amtrol-Alfa, Frezite ) e internacionais (por exemplo, Honda, Nagase Chemtex, John Deere, Safran, Infineon, Henkel, Huawei, ArcelorMIttal, etc.).
