I am Raquel Branco and I hold a degree in Communication Sciences (2020). During the degree process I gained a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles of communication and their theoretical and practical implications. Seeking to expand my academic and professional horizons, I enrolled the Master's in Marketing Management (2023). During the Master Course, I developed analytical and research skills, and endurance while facing the challenges of the dissertation process. I dedicated myself to in-depth research focused on the exploration of the producers’ perceptions on Product Design Dimensions within the context of New Product Development, culminating in the writing of my dissertation entitled "Contrasting Artisans' and Designers' Perceptions of Product Design: Case Study of TASA". This document represents the culmination of my academic journey so far. I have been able to sharpened my research, critical analysis and academic writing skills. Throughout this process, I have been able to demonstrate my ability to conduct an independent research project, exploring relevant issues and contributing to the advancement of knowledge in my field of study. I am currently embarking on a new academic journey as a candidate for the PhD program in Economic and Management Sciences, with a focus on Management, in the University of Algarve where I intend to further explore issues related to marketing, innovation and sustainable business development. My determination to contribute to the advancement of knowledge and my passion for intellectual challenges drive me to seek novel solutions to the complex problems in the business world. My dissertation research has sparked a keen interest in new product development, product design, interdisciplinary collaboration, innovation, cultural heritage, and sustainability. I am constantly on the lookout for educational opportunities that can enrich my knowledge in these areas. I believe that the intersection of these topics can provide valuable insights and innovative solutions to contemporary challenges faced by industry and society in general. Recently I have attended several seminars held by CinTurs such as: “Tourism, Hospitality, and Governance: Navigating Business Model Thinking in the Industry”, by Nina Prebensen, “The Power of Narratives: Transforming Wellbeing Tourism Experiences Through Storytelling”, by Ranjana Tiwari, “Sustainable Luxury Hospitality: Paradox or Force for Good?”, by Anita Manfreda and “Leveraging a Scientific Writing Operating System (SWOS) to establish Competive Intelligence as a Science” by Luís Madureira. I interned at Pediatricamente in 2021, managing communication and administrative functions. Also worked as an administrative assistant at Rat Rig from 2021-2023, gaining practical business environment understanding. I co-founded (2021) The Pineapple Mind association, a non-profit organization focused on mental health awareness during the pandemic, with members all over the country. I held leadership roles such as National Coordinator of the Department of Marketing, Communication and Multimedia, and Coordinator of Department Collaborators, being responsible for communications, management and meetings. I also coordinated The Pineapple Friends, a volunteer project, managing participants and checking their progress. This combination of academic and professional experiences provides me with a solid basis for seeking out new challenges and learning opportunities.
