Stergios Amarantidis earned his PhD in Astrophysics in 2021 from the Instituto de Astrofísica e Ciências do Espaço, a Master of Science degree in 2015 from Universiteit van Amsterdam, and a Bachelor of Physics in 2013 from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He is currently a post-doctoral researcher at the Instituto de Radioastronomía Milimétrica (IRAM). To date, he has published 13 articles in scientific journals, serving as both Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-PI, and has organised four academic events while participating in 32 others. Additionally, he is co-supervising one MSc dissertation and has co-supervised one undergraduate thesis. His contributions to the field have been recognised with five awards and honours. His research primarily focuses on physical sciences, with an emphasis on Astronomy, particularly in areas such as the astrophysics of galaxies, radio astronomy, and instrumentation. His expertise extends to topics including the Epoch of Re-ionisation, X-ray astronomy, Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN), Super Massive Black Holes (SMBHs), high-redshift galaxies, and radio surveys.
