Violeta Carvalho completed the PhD in Mechanical Engineering by the University of Minho in April 2025, and the Integrated Master's in Biomedical Engineering in 2020 at the same University. Her area of expertise is in Biomaterials, Rehabilitation, and Biomechanics. Currently, she is an invited assistant in the Mechanical Engineering Department. During her Ph.D., she was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to conduct part of her research at Shin's Lab (Harvard Medical School - Department of Medicine - Brigham and Women's Hospital), and the IMFAHE fellowship to conduct a short internship at the University of Toronto. Up to now, she has author /co-author of 29 journal articles, 8 section(s) of books and 2 book(s), and has 1 patent(s) registered. Participated in 58 event(s). Co-supervised 1 MSc dissertation(s).
