Ana Senos is Associate Professor at University of Aveiro and member of CICECO-Aveiro Institute of Materials. She is involved in teaching topics of processing and characterization of materials for undergraduate, master and doctoral programs. Her research activity has been developed in the investigation of ceramics and nanocomposites processing, on the topics of sintering kinetics, constrained sintering, alternative sintering techniques, microstructural/grain boundary design and its relation with the electrical answer and mechanical behavior of materials. In terms of application areas, her activity covers the development of composite materials for structural applications, dielectric and semiconductor (2D, 3D) materials for electronics applications, and porous materials for medicine and nuclear industry. Current interests are focused on nanostructured materials for structural, electrical and nuclear applications, study of grain boundary phenomena in electronic functional materials and development of new processing technologies (as Electric Field Assisted Sintering and Joining techniques, among others) with potential for industrial application, namely in the cemented carbides and ceramics industries. She has led or collaborated in 25 research projects in the field of fundamental research, as well as applied research with industrial partnership. Has national and international collaborations with European, Brazilian, Indian and USA groups and participated in 6 cooperation projects. Until 2023 Ana Senos has (is) supervising 33 MSc students, 16 PhD students and 8 Post-docs (31 MSc thesis and 12 PhD thesis finished). She has actively contributed to the dissemination of the research results of her group either through scientific publications or through participation in conferences, seminars and workshops, with more than 200 presentations, including oral presentations, some as invited, and posters. Ana Senos has been acting as referee in the selection of national and international R&D projects (2 national and 6 international project panels) and acts regularly as referee for more than 40 international journals. She has been involved in the organization of 15 international and 2 national scientific meetings, various seminars and workshops. She is active member of six professional associations: Sociedade Portuguesa de Materiais (SPM), Sociedade Portuguesa de Microscopia (SPMic), Sociedade Portuguesa de Cerâmica e Vidro (SPCV), Associação dos Engenheiros de Cerâmica e Vidro (AECV), American Ceramic Society (ACERS) and European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA), belonging to the European Powder Metallurgy Institute work group since 2020 (by invitation). She has been board member of SPM (2019-21, 2022-24), SPMic (2010-11) and AECV (founding and boarding member, 1986-88) . Her Publications and Scientific Track Record contains 5 book editions, 5 book chapters, 158 scientific papers (being 139 from SCI) and 2 patents. Citation record 31st March 2023: 2882 citations, h-index=31 (from Scopus base); 3775 citations, h-index=34 (from Google Scholar).
