Andreia obtained her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Biology at the University of Coimbra. She joined CIBB (Centre for Innovative Biomedicine and Biotechnology)'s Biology of Reproduction and Stem Cells Group in 2011, where she completed her Master's thesis, and is nearly finished her PhD degree, both in the scope of male infertility. During this period, she participated on 5 projects and worked in full in 3 of them as a researcher. She has produced 10 peer-reviewed articles in international journals (5 original research; 5 reviews), and 2 book chapters, being 1st author in 5 and corresponding author in 1. She has also 2 submitted research articles in the scope of her PhD, having a total number of citations of 147 (h-index of 6; source: Google Scholar). Andreia often participated in national and international conferences, contributing with 14 oral presentations (3 as speaker; 4 as 1st author), and 17 poster communications (4 as presenter). Her merit has been recognized, having been awarded with 2 grants to attend and present her work at international conferences. She is also actively involved in the public awareness of health and science, particularly at the European Researchers' Night, and was recently co-author of a scientific article for children. Recently, Andreia joined the European Union funded project PAS GRAS, where she is focused on the in-depth understanding of health/obesity determinants and consecutive co-production of new tools and interventions programmes adapted to different ages and socio-economic/cultural environments, to raise health literacy and promote healthy lifestyles both in target audiences and the general public.
