Correia AM has a PhD in Biology from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (FCUP, 2020), and is currently a postdoc researcher at the Interdisciplinary Centre of Marine and Environmental Research (CIIMAR, Porto, Portugal). Since 2011, she has been working in the field of marine ecology and conservation. She has contributed to a book chapter and 13 conservation reports; published a dataset as first-author, 8 peer-reviewed scientific articles as first author and 9 (plus 2 preprints) as co-author; summed 12 conference participations as first author and 60 as co-author (h-index 9, Google Scholar). She has been invited speaker for 18 lectures, tutored 5 training courses/workshops, and organised 15 events. She has revised 10 manuscripts for 9 scientific journals. She is/was the Principal Investigator of CETUS Project (ongoing CIIMAR monitoring programme), GAMA (SEED CIIMAR Project); CIIMAR coordinator of REDUCE (Horizon EU, ongoing) and CetAMBICion (DG ENV / MSFD 2020, concluded); FCUP co-coordinator of Atlantic Whale Deal (Interreg Atlantic, ongoing); CIIMAR team member of EMPHATIC (Biodiversa+, ongoing). At the University of Porto, she has been an Invited Assistant Professor for two academic semesters and lectures several classes within graduation and Master courses. Correia AM supervises students and interns from graduation level (11 students), MSc (8 students) and PhD (2 students). Correia AM has strong experience in fieldwork activities, organising, coordinating, tutoring interns, and participating in multidisciplinary at-sea campaigns for biodiversity monitoring and sampling. She is licensed by the Portuguese Institute for Nature Conservation and Forests (ICNF) to sample cetaceans. Her scientific activities have been dedicated to marine pelagic megafauna ecology, largely in contribution to relevant bodies for marine conservation. She has developed relevant skills in ecological niche modeling, spatial analysis, and marine management and conservation. She is further involved in studies of photo-ID, population structure, ecotoxicology, bioacoustics, and eDNA techniques.
