Mkrtich Harutyunyan. Completed the Doctorate degree in Biology in 2023 by the Instituto Superior de Agronomia (School of Agriculture)/University of Lisbon, Master in Agricultural Biotechnology in 2013, and Bachelor in Selection and Genetics of Crops in 2011 by Armenian National Agrarian University. He is currently a doctoral researcher at the Instituto Superior de Agronomia in the Department of Natural Resources, Environment and Territory at the University of Lisbon, Portugal. Former scholar at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (Lisbon) and recipient of various governmental and private scholarships. His research is focused on experimental archaeology, the recreation of ancient winemaking techniques and wine styles, and the sensory appreciation of wines by contemporary consumers, as well as the reconstruction of the practice of ancient viticulture based on historical sources. His research also includes the recreation of classical gastronomy and culinary recipes of the ancient Greeks and Romans. Recent publications include the book chapter entitled ''Linking Experimental Archaeology and Winemaking: From the Dig to the Winery'' by Bloomsbury's publication (2024) and ''Investigating the Influence of Vessel Shape on Spontaneous Fermentation in Winemaking'' in the Fermentation Special Issue journal from MDPI (2024). Dr. Harutyunyan speaks four languages and is proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experienced in comprehensive online research, academic research databases (Google Scholar, Scopus, PubMed, and Web of Science), and R statistical software skills.
