Ticiana Barbosa Fernandes

Ticiana Fernandes: M.Sc. in Molecular Genetics and B.Sc. in Biochemistry, both from University of Minho; where she was granted the the top score (20/20) for her master's thesis. Currently persuing a PhD in Molecular and Environmental Biology, specilizing in Molecular Biotechnology, with a focus on adaptive laboratory evolution strategies of non-Saccharomyces yeasts to enhance bioproduction of added-value compounds from biowaste-derived substrates. Aditionally, she has supervised and mentored of students, collaborated across multidisciplinary teams, and contributed to several research projects. Her areas of expertise spans biological sciences with an emphasis on microbiology, biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, biotechnological fermentation and beginner-level bioinformatics.
