Renata Vardanega holds a Master and PhD in Food Engineering from the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Brazil) and a bachelor’s degree in Food Engineering from the Universidade Regional Integrada do Alto Uruguai e das Missões (Brazil). Her expertise areas include food technology, process engineering, economic feasibility of processes, and more recently, pharmaceutical sciences. She is inventor in two patents and has published over 60 research items, including original articles, reviews, and book chapters. She has also disseminated her research in several national and international conferences with posters, oral presentations, and lectures. Her contributions to generation of knowledge and transferring to industry were recognized by 4 UNICAMP Inventors Awards. She counts with the participation in more than 10 research projects including a role as PI of a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Project. Along with her Postdoctoral research, she has been involved in the tutoring of students on their doctoral programs, as well as supervising research fellows. She participated in several juries for academic degrees and performs regular work as reviewer for reference scientific journals. Renata Vardanega cooperates with international institutions such as Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Brazil), Universidade Federal do Estado de São Paulo (Brazil), Universidad de Antofagasta (Chile), and Universidad de Vigo (Spain). She has also been active within the community by participating and organizing demonstrations about food processing and technology, particularly focussing on young audiences and schools.
