Diogo Esteves Pereira is currently enrolled in the Chemistry Doctoral Program from the University of Aveiro (2020-2024), where he got his MSc in Biotechnology. He developes work towards the production of magnetic activated carbon using microwave pyrolysis and tests the materials for the removal of pharmaceuticals from wastewater. On the same subject, Diogo has published 5 journal articles (2 as first author), presented 6 oral communications (4 as presenter) and 4 posters at international conferences, and participated in 2 projects as a Research Fellow. His current research interests combine materials science, analytical chemistry and environmental remediation mainly though the development and characterization of alternative magnetic waste-based adsorbents. He has experience working with capillary electrophoresis and HPLC. Diogo is starting his career and is eager to learn from diverse research fields.
