Fernanda Luísa da Silva Feneja is a permanent teacher of English and German (groups 330 and 340) in Portugal’s secondary education system in Ministério da Educação. She holds a PhD (Doutoramento) in American Literature (2007/11/23, Universidade Aberta); a Master’s Degree (Mestrado) in American Studies (2000/04/27, Universidade Aberta): and a degree (Licenciatura) in Modern Languages and Literatures - English and German Studies (1986, Universidade de Lisboa). She is a researcher in the American Studies Research Group G3 at CEAUL/ULICES (University of Lisbon Centre for English Studies). Her areas of academic research and interest focus mainly on twentieth-century American Literature (narrative fiction, modernist fiction, and science-fiction and fantasy narrative), travel literature, ecocriticism, American culture, literary theory; and teaching of foreign languages.
