Joana Baço | CHAM - Centre for the Humanities | UNESCO Chair The Ocean's Cultural Heritage Research Group: Post-Medieval and Colonial Archaeology | Thematic Research Line: Environmental History and the Sea | Joana Baço is an archaeologist, with a master degree, since 2015, in Archaeology by FCSH-NOVA. She has been in several national and international research projects, mainly focused in Underwater and Nautical Archaeology and also in the Portuguese Expansion. Today, she is a researcher of the Post-Medieval and Colonial Archaeology Research Group; and of the Thematic Research Line on Environmental History and the Sea. She is also a team member of the UNESCO Chair The Ocean's Cultural Heritage. Her main research interests are the Early Modern era, the life on board aspects, the naval construction and the religious imaginary related to the Sea.
