Alireza Akhavan Safar is a Postdoctoral Researcher in Instituto de Engenharia Mecanica e Gestao Industrial (INEGI). He is a member of the Advanced Joining Process Unit (AJPU) of INEGI since 2018 and he has been served as the coordinator of the scientific committee of the AJPU since 2020. His main research areas are Adhesive Joints, Fracture Mechanics, and Fatigue. He has developed a new method for failure load assessment of adhesive joints based on the theory of critical distances for similar and dissimilar joints. He has been also developed a tool for fatigue life assessment of adhesively bonded structures. He has supervised several Master and Ph.D. theses on adhesive joints. He has been involved in several international projects funded by different international companies, on adhesive materials and joints. Some of them are successfully completed where different aspects of the mechanical behavior of adhesive joints including impact, fracture, fatigue, and aging of adhesive joints have been considered in these projects, both experimentally and numerically. Out of his research, several papers have been published in international ISI journals or presented in international conferences.
