Ana Luísa Gonçalves Saldanha is a project researcher at the Mountain Research Centre (CIMO). Throughout her career she had the opportunity to work in several scientific areas, namely, quality control, food technology, and science management. After finishing her degree and master degree in Biochemistry, she had contact with the cryopreservation of stem cells in a Portuguese company. Her first contact with applied research happened in the Mountain Research Center (CIMO) at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, in a scholarship for the mobilizing project ValorNatural. Within this project she has been working with natural products chemical characterization, as also with the optimization of extraction conditions for the recovery of high added value compounds using non-conventional extraction methodologies. In parallel she had also the opportunity to perform tasks at the level of scientific management. Co-author of one research paper in a high-impact factor journal, and four conference paper in an international congress. In addition to her professional career, she has also a vast curriculum in social volunteering actions at national and international level.
