Cátia Magro holds a PhD in Environment and Sustainability (FCT-NOVA, 2019) and a Master in Environmental Engineering (Technical University of Denmark and FCT-NOVA, 2014). Her research has focused primarily on decontamination technologies, nano/materials, hydrogen production, sensors and remote sensing (resulting in e.g. one patent application WO/2020/188370, PCT/IB2020/051195; 10 SCI articles, 3 Conference Papers with referees). Driven by her enthusiasm to contribute to environmental actions and knowledge transfer, she joined the EU EIT-Climate KIC journey through which she was able to collaborate with other climate action advocates, thus adding further experience to her previous activities in several countries and cultures. Moreover, owing to her passion for communication she was head of the dissemination team of CENSE research centre. Cátia is an ongoing mentor of the HiseedTech program, where she supports research groups in the design of ideas and products applied to industry partners. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the physics department of NOVA, conducting research on the potential of satellites and other remote sensing tools for wildfire monitoring in Portugal.
