Dr. Afsaneh L. Sanati received her Ph.D. in Nanochemistry from the University of Tehran in 2019. She has authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications, including 18 Q1 journal articles and 7 highly cited papers, with more than 3,500 citations (h-index: 21, excluding self-citations). Her research expertise lies in nanomaterials, electrochemical systems, and flexible energy devices. She serves on the editorial boards of Progress in Chemical and Biochemical Research and the Asian Journal of Nanoscience and Materials, and has been a Guest Editor for Carbon Letters. Dr. Sanati is also an active reviewer for leading international journals, including Fuel and the International Journal of Hydrogen Energy. Dr. Sanati completed her MSc under Professor Hassan Karimi and her Ph.D. under Professor Mohammad Reza Ganjali. Her doctoral work focused on carbon-based nanomaterials (GO, rGO, GQDs), nanocomposites, and electrochemical sensor development. She was awarded a competitive grant from the Iranian Ministry of Science for a research visit to the University of Coimbra, where she collaborated with Professor Christopher Brett. From 2020 to 2024, she conducted postdoctoral research at the Soft and Printed Microelectronics Laboratory, University of Coimbra, transitioning her work toward scalable fabrication of integrated electrochemical and printed electronic systems. Her research on graphene-based composites, liquid metals, and flexible energy storage devices resulted in 18 publications, including 7 highly cited articles. Dr. Sanati has co-supervised (Supervised) several MSc and Ph.D. students. In 2024, she was awarded the Individual Call to Scientific Employment Stimulus (6th Edition) and is currently a Junior Researcher at the Institute of Systems and Robotics (ISR), University of Coimbra.
