Filomena Parada is a doctor in Psychology (2008) with a degree awarded by the University of Porto. Since February 2023, she has been an Auxiliary Researcher at Lusófona University, CeiED. Also, she is (1) a research collaborator at Minds Hub Research Group (University of Helsinki), and the Research Group Relationships, Change Processes and Wellbeing (Centre for Psychology at the University of Porto); (2) a member of the Associates' Network at the International Centre for Guidance Studies (University of Derby); and (3) an Associate Member at the Education Social Justice and Transformation Research Group (University of Portsmouth). Previously, she worked in (1) Finland at the University of Helsinki (2019-2022; postdoctoral fellow and research collaborator) and the University of Jyväskylä (2017-2019, researcher/ MSCA Standard Individual Fellow); and (2) Portugal at the University of Coimbra (2009-2015) as a postdoctoral fellow at IPCHSDUH, and at the University of Porto (1997-2009) as a researcher/doctoral fellow. During her time at IPCHSDUH, she was a Visiting Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of British Columbia. Since 2017, she has been a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Vocational Behavior. She participated in 12 research projects and was awarded 4 individual fellowships for which she was the project leader/PI ¿ 2 Postdoctoral Fellowships (2019-2020, 2009-2015); 1 MSCA Standard Individual Fellowship (2017-2019); 1 Doctoral Fellowship (1999-2003). Her role in the research projects was mostly as a team member and research coordinator. She was the PI for the Portuguese study of the international consortium Work and Learning Pathways: Stories of Transition and Adaptability. Filomena's scholarship emphasizes bridging research, practice, and policy, and relies on an integrative, dynamic, and process-oriented approach focusing on the understanding of the self-organizing and self-construing processes through which individuals-in-context learn, think, feel, act, and interact in everyday life and across time. Her research interests include (1) youth transitions to work and adulthood, positive youth development, and the development of sustainable careers, (2) goal processes at the heart of intentional development, self-regulation, and decision-making processes, (3) career counselling and development, (4) lifelong learning, (5) research careers, and (6)Contextual Action Theory (CAT) and its associated research method, the action-project method (APM). In 2016, she was part of the team led by Professor R.A. Young (UBC; co-author of CAT and the APM) who was awarded the Jacobs Foundation Marbach Castle Residence Program. She is a mixed-methods researcher, which allows her to experiment with (1) the usage of procedures typical of the conceptual frameworks and methodological approaches she has been applying to her research; (2) other research approaches and methodologies (e.g., designing and using digital tools for research and career intervention, and participatory research approaches). Filomena has 532 citations and an h-index of 12 Google citations index), with a total of 55 publications: 1 forthcoming research article to be submitted to a WoS/JCR and/or Scopus/SJR indexed journal, 1 forthcoming research report that is oriented toward the development of policy recommendations concerning early career researchers careers and wellbeing, 1 forthcoming White Paper addressing gender equity in academia, 17 published peer-reviewed scientific publications (6 journal articles in publications indexed in WoS/JCR and/or Scopus/SJR; 7 book chapters in prestigious publishers; 4 non-indexed journal articles), 24 non-refereed scientific publications (literature reviews, proceedings), 1 monograph, 6 publications intended for professional communities, 1 thesis, and 3 publications intended for diverse audiences.

ReMO will focus on wellbeing and mental health within academia, a theme of strategic importance for the European Research Area. Previous research shows that low levels of wellbeing and mental health problems have a negative impact on individual, team and organizational performance, triggering significant costs. The proposers of ReMO are academics, practitioners, policymakers and consultants for higher education institutions.

2013 - 2015 Regular contributor to the Science Europe Working Group on Research Careers, being actively involved in the task force Post-Doc Funding Schemes in Europe. In 2016 is a panellist and a presenter at the workshop where the outcomes of the 2 years of activity of the Working Group are presented.
