PostDoctoral Researcher (Foundation for Science and Technology Fellow - DOI 10.54499/CEECINST/00018/2021/CP2806/CT0001 ) at JusGov (Research Centre for Justice and Governance), School of Law, University of Minho to develop scientific research activities, with a project in the area of Data Protection, Digitalisation of Justice, European Arrest Warrant and Judicial Cooperation in Criminal Matters in Court Practice. PhD in European Union Law with a thesis on Eurojust (European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation), with the classification of 'Sobresaliente cum laude' (UNED, Madrid 2014); Diplôme d'études approfondies (DEA) of European Union Law, with a dissertation in the area of judicial cooperation in criminal matters that earned the classification of 'Sobresaliente' (UNED, Madrid 2017) and Law Degree (Universidad Complutense de Madrid). She is the scientific coordinator of the Science and Technology Week (Ciência Viva) at JusGov (University of Minho, Law School) and also of the "Científicamente Provável" Programme (FCT) at the aforementioned Research Centre. Currently Invited Assistant Professor (since February 2025, School of Law, Universidade do Minho) in the Master's programme in Human Rights (Seminar on Scientific Research); Visiting Assistant Professor at the Universidad de Salamanca (December 2025 on Erasmus + Mobility for Teaching); Visiting Assistant Professor at the Universitat de Barcelona (UB), 2024, she also lectured in the Master's programme in Human Rights International Protection Systems, at the Faculty of Law of the Universidad Internacional de la Rioja (UNIR), Spain (April 2021 - July 2023). She has also supervised Master's dissertations in this field at the same university. She was a lecturer at the Department of Criminology of the Faculty of Legal Sciences at the Universidad Camilo José Cela (Madrid, 2008-2013) on the Criminology course in the subjects of Judicial Cooperation and Transnational Crime, Juvenile Justice and International Human Rights Law, as well as on the Criminology degree course in the same subjects for the group of State Security Forces and Bodies. She has been a permanent evaluator of scientific articles for the National Council for Research and Postgraduate Studies in Law (CONPEDI), Brazil, since August 2017. She has carried out research at EUROJUST, the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation (The Hague, The Netherlands), having participated in the preparation of a project on terrorism and information exchange in the EU. Her final conclusions of the project were used as a working tool in Eurojust's anti-terrorism team and were presented under the title of "Evaluation of the exchange of information and cooperation on terrorist offences at Eurojust" . She was also a trainee at the Spanish Audiencia Nacional Prosecutor's Office in matters relating to judicial cooperation in criminal matters and terrorism. Visiting Researcher (Short-Term) at the European University Institute (EUI, Florence, Italy, 2024), Visiting Scholar at the College of Europe (Bruges, Belgium) in the Department of European Political and Governance Studies, and Visiting Researcher at the l´Institut des Hautes Etudes Européennes (IHEE), (Université Robert Schuman, Strasbourg, France) under the Marie Curie Chair of Chair of Excellence of the European Commission held by Professor Dr Jörg Monar in the area of Freedom, Security and Justice of the EU. Her current research areas are: European Union Criminal Law; Judicial Cooperation in Criminal Matters; Data Protection and European Arrest Warrant; Digitalisation of Justice; Fundamental Rights; Court Practice and Academia. Currently building (Law) bridges between Secondary Education & Higher Education on Legal Literacy. She joined the Open Council of Europe Academic Networks (OCEAN) in April 2025. From May 2026 she is a Committee Member of the Open Science Observatory of the University of Minho.
