Currently a PhD candidate in Petroleum Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon, since 2021, affiliated with CERENA (FCT – Excellent). Holds a Master’s degree in Geological Engineering (University of Aveiro, 2014–2016), a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Technologies – Exploration and Production branch, from Escola Superior de Tecnologia do Barreiro, Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal (2021–2025), a postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (2021– 2023), and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and Biology Education (Pedagogical University of Mozambique, 2006), demonstrating academic versatility. He served as a university lecturer at Licungo University – Beira Extension (2007–2021), with teaching experience in Geology, Civil Engineering, Hydrology, Hydrogeology, and environmental-related fields, and also held coordination roles in Geology and Occupational Health and Safety undergraduate programs. His research focuses on sustainable energy resources and energy transition, particularly on natural gas in the Mozambique Basin and environmental impact mitigation. In addition to his experience in exploration and production of energy resources using seismic data and well data, he has relevant experience in hydrology and hydrogeology, including acquisition and interpretation of hydrogeological data, groundwater quality assessment, field surveys, GIS applications, and data processing. He also has knowledge in hydrogeophysics, support to drilling activities, performance and interpretation of hydraulic tests, and use of well logs for seismic stratigraphic and hydrostratigraphic characterization. He has experience in environmental consulting, research projects, and academic coordination, as well as a strong interest in sustainable initiatives and in the training and empowerment of young people for scientific and environmental development in Mozambique.
