Paulo Alcarva is a Professor of Finance at ISCAP — Porto Accounting and Business School (Polytechnic of Porto), where he teaches master's-level courses in corporate finance, business valuation and restructuring, risk management, and financial markets and instruments. He holds a PhD from Universidade Portucalense, with a thesis on green debt instruments, and his research focuses on sustainable finance – notably the pricing differential (greenium) between green bonds and green bank loans – corporate finance, and SME financing. He is a researcher at CEOS.PP, an FCT-accredited research centre, and vice-dean of Porto Executive Academy, the executive education school of the Polytechnic of Porto. Before academia, he spent nearly two decades in corporate banking and M&A at Banco BPI, experience that informs both his teaching and his applied research agenda.
