João Pragana is an Assistant Professor of Instituto Superior Técnico University of Lisbon, Portugal. He obtained his MSc in 2017 and his PhD 2021 both in Mechanical Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, where he also served as junior researcher between 2018 and 2020, trainee assistant in 2020, Invited assistant between 2021 and 2023 and invited assistant professor in 2023 of the Manufacturing and Industrial Management Unit of Instituto Superior Técnico. He is also Integrated Member of the Manufacturing and Industrial Management research center of IDMEC, where he serves a Vice-Coordinator since 2025. His research interests are focused in metal forming, joining technologies and hybrid additive manufacturing.
