Artist, writer and researcher. In 2025, I completed a cotutelle PhD in Art Studies (NOVA University Lisbon) and Anthropology (University of São Paulo), funded by a scholarship from FCT (PD/BD/128483/2017). The research focused on the discourse and literature surrounding the concept of the Anthropocene through art-based research. In this context, I produced a series of three lecture-performances exploring the relationships between language and geology — "Anthroposcenes", "Geophagy" and "Fossil"— which examine hybrid formats of knowledge production and transmission. These works were presented in artistic and academic contexts in Portugal, Spain, France, Switzerland, and Brazil. The thesis was graded Very Good. In addition to lecture-performance formats, a central line of my research focused on Indigenous cinema in Brazil, in conjunction with critical debates surrounding the Anthropocene, colonialism, and Indigenous cosmologies. This axis resulted in the co-curation of an Indigenous film festival at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (2019), in collaboration with Ailton Krenak and a network of researchers, affirming curation as a research practice. The research also gave rise to various formats of scientific dissemination, namely participation in the meeting Peripheral Memories & Transnational Mobilities (2022), within the scope of COST Action TRACTS – Tracing Arts and Cultural Heritage in Transformation, in Lisbon, as well as a performative presentation at the Monocultures congress (2024), organised by the ECO – Animals and Plants in Cultural Productions in the Amazon Basin project (ERC Consolidator Grant No. 101002359), in Coimbra. In terms of publishing, this focus resulted in a peer-reviewed article in HoST – Journal of History of Science and Technology (2022) and two book chapters, consolidating the articulation between theoretical research, artistic practices, and critical reflection on ecology, coloniality, and knowledge production. Over the past five years, this trajectory has developed in line with my doctoral thesis, at the intersections between art, anthropology, and ecology, frequently in relation to queer and Indigenous communities. I explore different formats in the performing arts, combining academic research, artistic creation, curation, and public dissemination of knowledge. Noteworthy projects during this period include "Spillovers – a Performative Reading" (2021), "Spillovers" (2023), and "Transition Rite" (2025), presented and supported by institutions such as the D. Maria II National Theater, the Batalha Cinema Center, Short Theatre (Rome), and the Porto Design Biennale. I also participated in European projects under the Creative Europe programme, namely STAGES – Sustainable Theatre Alliance for a Green Environmental Shift (2023–2025), and presented these performative projects at various academic events. Since 2020, I have also been coordinating the Terra Batida platform, through which I develop experimental research-creation projects in the performing arts related to socio-environmental conflicts in Portugal. The platform organizes annual curatorial programs, residencies, and creative laboratories in collaboration with universities, cultural institutions, and public entities, establishing itself as a space for collective research, creation, and public programming. In teaching, I had the opportunity to teach for one semester in the Master’s Degree in Gender and Performance Studies at IUAV University of Venice (2022), as well as participating in postgraduate Anthropology courses (MA and PhD) at the University of São Paulo (2020–2021). I have also been invited to artistic training courses such as PACAP — Performing Arts Advanced Programme (Lisbon), and I designed long-term artistic education laboratories in partnership with the Educational Service of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (2022 and 2023), as well as a pedagogical partnership with the Swiss network least — laboratoire art écologie société.
