Dr. Sebastian Koehler works at the Center for Data and Methods at the University of Konstanz, Germany. He holds a doctoral degree in Political Science awarded by the University of Mannheim, Germany in 2014. From 2014-2017 he worked at the London School of Economics and Political Science. His research interests are in the fields of political economy, legislative politics and political methodology. He has published in international peer reviewed journals. A revised version of his dissertation has been published as a book by Palgrave Macmillan in 2019. Sebastian is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal SN Social Sciences. He is an invited researcher in the ETHICS project of Luis de Sousa (ICS Lisbon). Sebastian has organized three international conferences in Mannheim, Lisbon and Konstanz and two sections at the ECPR General Conference. He is responsible for the organization of the colloquium of the Center for Data and Methods. In 2009, he won the Young Scholar Award of the Mannheim Center for European Social Research, where he also worked as a researcher in a project. He is a member of the council on Research (AFF) at the University of Konstanz and a member of the Exam board for the MSc in Economic and Data Science. He is the convenor of the ECPR Standing Group on Analytical Politics and Public Choice. Sebastian regularly attends political science conferences in Europe and the United States. He has served as a reviewer for a series of economics and political science journals, including the top journals. He has more than 10 years of experience in developing and conducting courses on legislative politics, statistics and methods, game theory and political economy at Universities in Germany, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Several BA and MA theses were supervised by him. During his PhD studies, he was a visiting scholar at New York University.
