My field of academic study is geoinformatics. Focus of my research and university teaching has been on high mountain ecosystems of the Karakoram, lie within the Himalayan mountain range stretched between eight countries of South Asia. I employed GIS and remote sensing technology to address and publish research work on mountain specific issues specifically related to water resources, disaster risk models, habitat suitability models, and wetlands and smart agriculture. I have been promoted from Assistant Professor to Tenured Associate Professor on Dec 05, 2024 at COMSATS University Islamabad. Before joining as a PhD researcher at NOVA University Lisbon, I have been teaching Digital Image Processing, Programming with Python for processing GIS and remote sensing data and applications of GIS and Remote Sensing in environmental monitoring to Bachelor’s and Master’s students of COMSATS. After completing the Doktor (PhD) in Geoinformatics on 2014/01/08 from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, i worked a postdoc researcher at TU/e, Netherlands. Masters from Hochschule für Technik Stuttgart, Germany on 2009/03/21 and Bachelors of Computer Science from Al-Khair University on 2000/12/31.
