Angel Luis Alvarez Rodriguez. Completed the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Programme in Molecular Biology in 2015/12/17 by Universidad de Oviedo; Master in Microbiology and Virology in 2007/07/31 and Licence in Microbiology in 2005/07/31 by Universidad de la Habana. He is an assistant professor of Biochemistry at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Oviedo (Spain). Previous positions include an Instructor appointment at the University of Havana (2005-2009) and a post-doctoral fellowship at the Division of Infectious Diseases, Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School (Boston, USA) (2016-2019). He is a member of the American Society for Microbiology (ASM), American Society for Virology (ASV), World Society for Virology (WSV) and the Spanish Society for Virology (SEV). His current research concerns the molecular biology of virus replication, virus-host interactions, and virus reverse genetics, with a focus in the search for novel antiviral strategies.
