Fernando dos Santos Antunes. Academically, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Conservation and Restoration Technology, and a Degree (Specialized Higher Education Course) in Art, Archaeology and Restoration, both from the Escola Superior de Tecnologia de Tomar (ESTT) of the Instituto Politécnico de Tomar (IPT) and a Master's degree in Art History – Theories of Conservation and Restoration of Artistic Heritage (area of specialization), from Universidade Lusíada de Lisboa (2003). Professionally, he is an adjunct professor of the Departmental Unit of Archaeology, Conservation and Restoration, and Heritage, at ESTT-IPT a specialist in the Area of Arts - Conservation and Restoration, by IPT (2014). He has worked at IPT as a conservator-restorer and a teacher since 1993. Over the years, as a teacher, he has taught several curricular units of the 1st and 2nd cycle academic courses, bachelor's, graduate and master's degrees in Conservation and Restoration, highlighting several subjects related to wooden cultural assets, in the specialties of Furniture, Retables and Wood Carving: Conservation and Restoration; History and Technology of Wood Carving and Furniture; Integrated Movable Goods; Applied Arts; Conservation and Restoration Project; Collections Preservation; Integrated Risk Management; Current Conservation Problems (Seminars); Applied Conservation and Restoration; Curricular Internships (Tutorial Guidance); and Dissertations (Co-supervision). As a senior conservator and head of the Wooden Conservation and Restoration Laboratory, at IPT, he coordinated, directed and carried out conservation and restoration interventions on movable and integrated cultural goods in different areas and specialities of wooden cultural goods – furniture, retables and wood carving, structures and artefacts in wood and metal. He has worked in the technological areas of Preservation, Conservation and Restoration and Cultural Heritage Studies since he began his academic training at ESTT-IPT in 1990.
