Roberta Martins has a bachelor's and a master's degree in Biochemistry, both from the University of Beira Interior (Covilhã, Portugal). Presently is a Biochemistry PhD student also in the University of Beira Interior (Covilhã, Portugal). The research work of the master degree was related to disclose the effects of Regucalcin, a calcium binding protein, protective role against the effects of tert-butyl hydroperoxide in testicular metabolism.  At the present moment, Roberta has 1 published paper, 2 posters, 1 awards,  organized 1 scientific events and participated in 7. More recently Roberta worked as a SARS-COVID 2 analyst for the Health Sciences Research Centre of University of Beira Interior (CICS-UBI, Portugal), a partnership with the municipality and the Cova da Beira Hospital and Universitary Centre, Portugal being also in charge of the management and acquisition of reagents and consumables at the laboratory. Considering laboratory skills, she has experience in several procedures such as primary cell culture, cell line culture, protein extraction and quantification, Western Blot, quantification of intracellular metabolites, measurement of enzymatic activity, ELISA essay, immunohistochemistry, RNA extraction and real-time PCR. To increase thescientific knowledge, recently took the animal experimentation course at Centro de Cirugía de Mínima Invasión Jesús Usón, Cáceres, Spain in order to work in research with greater knowledge about the use of animals.
