Margarida Maria Cabral Lages Azevedo Santana completed her PhD in 1995 from the Université Paris-Sud and obtained the DEA diploma ("Diplôme d'études approfondies Génétique et Physiologie des Micro-organismes" from the Université Paris-Sud in 1991. She obtained the PhD equivalence in Biology (Microbiology) in 1996, from the University of Lisbon, Faculty of Sciences. She graduated in Applied Plant Biology in 1989 from the University of Lisbon, Faculty of Sciences, having completed ERASMUS in the last year of the bachelor’s degree at Université Paris VII Denis Diderot UFR Sciences du Vivant. She is a contracted researcher at the University of Lisbon. She has published 35 articles (available DOI) and two book chapters. She submitted 3 patent applications. She has communicated her work (e.g., published abstracts) in more than 25 national and international events. She supervises 1 PhD thesis and has supervised 2 master's dissertations. She supervised 4 undergraduate course completion projects. She participates and/or has participated as a Postdoctoral Fellow in 1 project, Researcher in 12 projects, Principal Investigator in 2 projects and collaborator in 2 projects. She works in Natural Sciences with emphasis on Biological Sciences (Microbiology, Molecular Biology, and Biochemistry) and Agrarian Sciences.
