Luísa Margarida Martins obteve o Título de Agregado em Química em 2015 pela Universidade de Lisboa (Instituto Superior Técnico), concluiu o Doutoramento em Química em 1996 da Universidade Técnica de Lisboa (Instituto Superior Técnico) e Licenciatura em Engenharia Química - Ramo Química Aplicada em 1990 do Instituto Superior Técnico da Universidade Técnica de Lisboa .
