Elisabete Barros is an Assistant Professor at Universidade Portucalense, where she is also a member of the Pedagogical Innovation Office and participates in course committees across several undergraduate programmes. Holding a PhD in Educational Sciences (University of Minho, 2021), her work is situated in the field of Educational Sciences, with a focus on pedagogical innovation, teacher professional development, and digital learning environments in higher education. Her research adopts a practice-based and research-informed approach, centred on the design and evaluation of innovative pedagogical models, particularly in large-class settings, aiming to enhance student engagement, autonomy and transversal competences. She has been actively involved in curricular innovation and, as a member of the institutional Pedagogical Innovation Office, contributes to the development of training initiatives for higher education teachers, including micro-credentials and communities of practice focused on the pedagogical integration of digital technologies (notably Moodle). She also supervises Master’s dissertations in the field of education. She has extensive experience in teacher education and training, including previous involvement in institutional and European projects related to education, technology and sustainability. Her research outputs include publications in indexed journals (WoS/Scopus) and conference contributions, and her work has been recognised through academic awards. Her recent work focuses on the integration of emerging technologies, including generative artificial intelligence, in education, and on the development of digital competences in educators.
