Mengmeng Cui is a senior sustainability expert and researcher specializing in circular economy business models and policies, as well as social-ecological transformation. Mengmeng has worked with a wide range of organizations on circular economy strategy. She is also one of the experts on the Singapore National Mirror Committee for the ISO TC323 for circular economy. She is awarded the 2023 SSC/SAC Commendation Award by Enterprise Singapore. Mengmeng is currently a PhD candidate in the program “Climate Change and Sustainable Development Policies” at the University of Lisbon. She also holds a research fellowship on social-ecological transformation at the Ca’Foscari University of Venice. Before her academic pursuit, she worked as a sustainability consultant with Accenture for 9 years between 2011 and 2019 and independently for 3 years, working with The World Bank, WWF, Global Compact Network Singapore, Apple and other clients between 2020 and 2023. She also worked in carbon trading and carbon accounting for 4 years between 2007 and 2011. Mengmeng has a master's degree in environmental science, management and policy from an Erasmus+ program with the Central European University, Lund University, Manchester University and the Aegean University. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University in Japan, in the subject of environmental sociology. Her research interests lie in sustainable development policies, circular economy policies, human-nature relationship, socio-ecological systems and nature-based solutions.
