Diana Lima (DL) graduated in Biochemistry and Food Chemistry in 2003, University of Aveiro (UA). Her exceptional grades during 2001/2002 resulted in a highest grade-achieving student award. DL first contact with research was during her graduation project (2002). After a short work experience in a quality control laboratory, she returned to UA to pursuit her goal: a career in research. Completed her Master in 2007 and her PhD in Chemistry in 2011, both under supervision of Dr. Esteves (UA). During her PhD, DL had the opportunity to undergo a 2 months internship at BAM, Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (Berlin). In 2012, she started her Post-doc research, which was focused on the development of low-cost methodologies for screening pharmaceuticals in environmental samples. Between 2019-2023 she worked as an assistant researcher at UA (in 2019 she gained a position as an assistant researcher at UA under the Transitional Rule and in 2023 she started a position as an assistant researcher 2022.00570.CEECIND). Simultaneously, since 2008, DL worked as an invited professor at Coimbra Health School and between 2020-2023 at UA's Chemistry Department. At the moment she is an assistant professor at Coimbra Health School and an integrated member of the Health and Technology Research Center. Among her current research interests are the occurrence, fate and removal of pharmaceuticals in the aquatic environment. She has collaborated in several projects providing her experience in the quantification of pollutants at trace levels. DL has participated in 4 research projects (funded by FCT), being the responsible investigator of one of them (REM-AQUA, 2018-2021). She is also the IR of an 18th month research project funded by ESTeSC in the scope of the call I2D-Igniting InterDisciplinarity and one Exploratory Research Projects (2023.12723.PEX) funded by FCT. She has collaborated with different international institutions and the internationalization of the work is reflected by the percentage of papers published in collaboration with foreign Institutes/Universities (almost 44%). Also, she is a member of two Brazilian Projects funded by FAPEMA and CAPES. DL has published 54 peer-reviewed papers (24 in the last 5 years) in highly ranked international journals (67% Q1 and 15% on the top 10), h-index of 23, more than 1000 citations. The multidisciplinarity of DL's work is reflected by the different categories of the published papers (analytical chemistry, soil science, environmental science, chemical engineering materials science, paper and wood). DL has presented 61 posters and 41 oral communications (15 as invited) in national/international conferences/seminars. She has two posters awards: the Green Chemistry poster prize in the International Symposium Green Chemistry (ISGC-2017) and the Best Poster prize in the "I Jornadas de Farmácia da Escola Superior de Tecnologia da Saúde de Coimbra". DL has supervised 2 research fellows, 1 PhD (ongoing), 20 BSc (2 ongoing) and 10 MSc students (1 ongoing). She was jury member of 3 MSc dissertations, several graduation projects and internships reports. Along with her research activity, the candidate is also deeply involved in the organization of (inter)national scientific meetings and in the organization/participation of science dissemination actions.
