Teresa Casimiro is Assistant Professor at the Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia in the area of Chemical and Biological Engineering, and Principal Investigator at LAQV/REQUIMTE ( https://laqv.requimte.pt/people/978-teresa_casimiro). She is leader of the CleanMIPTech Group (https://sites.fct.unl.pt/clean-mip-tech/) at the Green Polymer Synthesis & Processing Laboratory at LAQV/REQUIMTE, Chemistry Department at FCT NOVA. She has supervised 8 PhD students and over 40 graduation and project grantees. T. Casimiro is co-author of over 90 scientific papers in international peer reviewed journals (WoS) with h-index: 28, h-i10=65, 1554 citations (without self-citations), 20.26 average citations per paper; (Scopus: h-i: 29, 2034 citations), 4 Peer-reviewed Papers in national journals, 32 papers in refereed conference proceedings and 3 in national journals, 4 book chapters, 17 invited oral communications, over 55 oral communications and 75 poster communications and 5 patents. She has been involved in 8 projects as PI, 4 as responsible at the participant institution and 15 as team member. Her research is focused on the synthesis and processing of polymers using green technologies, in particular, supercritical fluid technology, molecular imprinting and plasma technology. The combination of SCF and MI technologies have led to the development of new affinity polymers- Molecularly Imprinted Polymers (MIPs)- for different applications. These "plastic antibody" materials are very robust and show molecular recognition ability, with many advantages over natural antibodies and conventional MIPs. Different applications have been explored such as chromatography, drug delivery, extraction, API purification, diesel desulfurization, catalysis, etc.
