Juliana Botelho Moreira has a degree in Food Engineering, a Master's degree, and a PhD from the Postgraduate Program in Food Engineering and Science at the Federal University of Rio Grande, Brazil. She developed part of her doctoral thesis at the University of Guelph (Canada), addressing the development of nanofibers for potential application in food packaging. Juliana works in the food bioprocesses, focusing on fermentative processes to obtain compounds for food development. She also works with nanobiotechnology, concerning biomolecules extracted from microalgae to produce nanomaterials applied to packaging. Juliana is currently a researcher at the LEAF Linking Landscape, Environment, Agriculture, and Food Research Unit at the Instituto Superior de Agronomia from the University of Lisbon.
