Ana Catarina Trindade is graduated in Industrial Chemistry (1998) and master in Chemistry (2000), both from Universidade da Beira Interior. She has a PhD in Materials Engineering from Nova School of Science and Technology (2006). She earned post-doctoral fellowships at CEBQ/IST (2006-2010) and at Materials Research Center in FCT/NOVA (CENIMAT|i3N) (2010-2016), both awarded in competitive calls from FCT-MCTES. She was member and researcher in an ERA-NET Project (2017-2020) at the group of Soft and Complex Matter Lab at NTNU (Norges Teknisk-Naturvitenskapelige Universitet Institutt For Fysikk) Trondheim, Norway. Actually guest assistant professor at Atlântica - Instituto Universitário and integrated researcher at CENIMAT|I3n, a hub of the Associated Laboratory Institute of Nanostructures, Nanomodelling and Nanofabrication. Since September 2020, she taught more than 1500 different students (300 of them in classes with a parternship with the french ITECH School in Lyon - an institute authorized by the CTI (Commission des Titres d´Ingénieur: "Commission of Engineering Degrees")). She supervised 2 Master works thesis and was jury of academic master degree in 3 occasions. Actively involved in the dissemination of Nanoscience and Condensed Matter through the scientific community, as author and co-author, she participated in 26 scientific papers (three of them highlighted as front cover pages and Kaleidoscope of the month), 1 book chapter and participated in 8 R&D national and international projects (one of them as PI of the co-host institution, in 2010-2013, and one ongoing as a co-PI). She was Member of the Organizing Committee of the 6th International Liquid Crystal Elastomer Conference ILCEC2011 and member of the Organizing Committee of the 28th International Liquid Crystal Conference ILCC2022, both held in Lisbon, Portugal. She is invited reviewer of 8 international scientific journals and she is Special Issue Guest Editor "Polymeric Liquid Crystalline Systems" of the scientific journal Molecules from MDPI. She also belongs to the evaluation panel of national Serbian projects of the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia. She is also counselor of the Madeira Torres School Group in Torres Vedras - Portugal, Founding Member and Member of the Fiscal Council of the Social Bodies of SPCL - Sociedade Portuguesa de Cristais Líquidos (Portuguese Liquid Crystal Society). Engage in teaching and supervisor activities to mentor students, keeping up the importance of a sustainable economy related with biopolymers nanoscience, recently she earned two important national prizes at "Desafio à Inovação 2020" (from Águas do Tejo Atlântico) and "Born from Knowledge Ideas 2021" (from National Innovation Agency - ANI, in the category of Natural Resources, Environment, Energy and Sustainable Mobility).
