Dr. Mani Rajkumar received his PhD in Environmental Science from Centre for Environmental Studies, Anna University, Chennai, India in 2002. He is Full Professor in the Department of Environmental Sciences, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, India since 2016. Previously He has worked as Lecturer at KSR college of Technology, Tiruchengode, India (2002 to 2003), CBNU postdoctoral researcher at the Division of Bioresources, Chonbuk National University, South Korea (2003-2006), FCT Post doctoral fellow at Centre for Functional Ecology, University of Coimbra, Portugal (2006-2008) and JSPS Fellow in the Division of Soil Sciences, Kobe University, Japan (2008-2010). Besides, he has worked as Scientist D (DBT Ramalingasami Fellow) at CSIR-NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING RESEARCH INSTITUTE, Chennai, INDIA (2011-2013) and Central University Tamil Nadu, INDIA (2013-2016). He has been serving as member of academic bodies of various Institutions including Member (University Nominee), College Committee and Governing body, Vellalar Collage for Women, Member of Board of Studies of the Environmental Sciences of Bharathiar University, Tamil University, Bharathidasan University, Alagapppa University Manonmanium Sundaranar University etc. His research works have been funded by various national and international programmes including DST-India, DBT-India, JSPS-Japan and FCT-Portugal. He has received 7 awards and/or honors. Participates and/or participated as Principal investigator in 3 project(s), Researcher in 1 project(s) and Supervisor in 1 project(s). He has more than 60 publications in leading international journals with a total of more than 8000 citations and an H-index of 35. He has presented several research papers in national/international conferences. He is the recipient of numerous prestigious national and international fellowships/awards including, DBT-Ramalingasami fellowship, India, JSPS fellowship, Japan, FCT fellowship, Portugal, Think of Ecology Award 2020. He is the scientific reviewer for many prestigious International journals. Dr. Rajkumar’s current research interests are on Climate change biology, microbe assisted phytoremediation, Host-microbe-pollutant interactions and Microbial Ecology. He has supervised two post-doctoral research programme, 1 Ph.D and several masters thesis and currently six Ph.Ds are working under his supervision.
