I completed my Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry (grade 15 out of 20) in 2017 at the University of Minho, School of Sciences, and my Master's degree in Biotechnology (grade 18 out of 20) in 2019 at the University of Minho, Department of Biological Engineering. Shortly after finishing my Master's, I collaborated with the company Terra Nostra (Azores) and became a research assistant at the Centre for Biological Engineering (CEB). I also had the opportunity to work with a company in collaboration with the CEB. Currently, I am finalizing my PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of Minho, with a doctoral fellowship funded by FCT. My research has always focused on the search for natural products with capabilities equal to or superior to conventional ones, aiming to provide society with a more sustainable and improved alternative. I mainly work in the field of Industrial Biotechnology. I have published three articles in scientific journals and one book chapter (as co-author). I have also been involved in organizing four science communication events and participated in 14 scientific events, where I presented my work through poster presentations at national and international scientific conferences.
