Currently, Ana Cláudia Campos is Assistant Researcher in full time for the Research Centre for Tourism, Sustainability and Well-Being (CinTurs) of the Universidade do Algarve. She holds a doctorate degree in Tourism, a Master degree in Tourism Management from Universidade do Algarve, and graduated in Philosophy from Universidade de Lisboa. She has been a full member of CinTurs since 2016. Campos has been involved in research activities and production in the field of tourism since 2008. Through the years, she has been committed to the highest standards of academic activity, contributing in many ways to tourism studies and knowledge dissemination. She has taught all levels of higher education courses and programs in tourism, namely in new trends in tourism, destination planning and management, strategic management and strategic marketing in tourism and hospitality, tourism services, events, and tourism experience design. Her affiliation to higher education institutions has given her opportunities to conduct supervision work to master and doctoral students. Her research work has been published in top journals in the field of tourism, among them Tourism Management, Current Issues in Tourism and Journal of Travel and Tourism Marketing, with a particular focus on the tourist experience and co-creation in tourism. She collaborates with the academia by doing peer-review service to a variety of prominent tourism journals. More recently she has been exploring research in other topics, such as cognitive psychology approaches to the tourist experience, innovation in tourism through Living Labs or communities of practice in hospitality. She regularly participates in international conferences which link fellow researchers, teachers, students, tourism managers, and public representatives, such as the international online conference on The Development of the Tourism Opportunities and Socio-Cultural Studies of Iranian & Portuguese Societies; the Global Conference on Services and Retail Management (Glovserv2021), University of South Florida, USA, and the University of Naples Federico II, Italy; the T-Forum 2020 Global Conference (2020, Portugal) or the 7th ATMC Conference Advances in Tourism Marketing Conferences: The Art of Living Together (2017, Morocco, 2017), allowing her to continuously expand her network of international collaboration. She has also been member of the scientific committee to several international conferences, as the T-Forum Global Conference 2020, Algarve-Portugal. Her work has been twice recognised by peers: in 2021, she and her colleagues won the Best Paper Award for the 6th World Research Summit for Tourism and Hospitality, and in 2017, the Martin Oppermann Memorial Award as the best article of the Year 2016 by the Journal of Travel & Tourism Marketing.
