Katharina Maria Kalinowski is a bilingual poet and literary scholar specialising in ecopoetics, modern and contemporary Anglophone and German poetry, translation, and creative writing. From 2017 to 2020, she was a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellow at the University of Cologne and completed a practice-based PhD project on ecotranslation in collaboration with the University of Kent and University College Dublin. Crossing boundaries between disciplines, languages, and countries, Katharina's work is situated at an intersection between critical theory and creative practice and seeks to interrogate the transformative potential of language. Katharina has taught Creative Writing, Artistic Research, and Environmental Humanities in Germany, England, and Ireland, and is also an experienced community workshop facilitator. Most recently, she worked as a Literary Editor in Derry/Londonderry, where she is currently based. Her work has appeared in peer-reviewed journals and international literary magazines such as the Journal of British & Irish Innovative Poetry, Green Theory and Practice, Ecozon@, Magma, and the Irish Poetry Reading Archive.
