Flávio Donizeti Marques é graduado em Engenharia Mecânica com Ênfase pela Escola de Engenharia de São Carlos da Universidade de São Paulo - EESC/USP (1987), mestrado em Engenharia Mecânica pela EESC/USP (1993), doutorado em Engenharia Aeroespacial pela University of Glasgow, Escócia, Reino Unido (1997), pós-doutorado em Engenharia Mecânica pela EESC/USP (1998) e livre-Docente pela EESC/USP (2005). Atuou como engenheiro de análise estrutural na EMBRAER (1988-1990). Atuou no Departamento de Engenharia Aeronáutica da EESC/USP, responsável pelas disciplinas Aeroelasticidade e Dinâmica do Vôo 1 do curso de Engenharia Aeronáutica. Atualmente é professor associado (MS-5 RDIDP) no Departamento de Engenharia Mecânica da EESC/USP e credenciado com orientador (mestrado/doutorado) na Área de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia Mecânica da EESC/USP. Áreas de interesse em pesquisa: aeroelasticidade linear e não linear, estruturas inteligentes, análise modal, dinâmica não linear, séries temporais, redes neurais artificiais, lógica difusa e algoritmos genéticos. Membro da Associação Brasileira de Ciências Mecânicas (ABCM) e do Comitê de Fenômenos Não-Lineares da ABCM e membro do American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).
