Alexandre Miguel Cotovio Martins achieved his Habilitation in Sociology in 2025/07/15 at Universidade de Évora and completed his PhD in Sociology in 2011/02/11 at Universidade Nova de Lisboa. He is an Associate Professor with Habilitation at the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre, at the School of Education and Social Sciences, of which he has been Deputy Director since November 2021 and where he has been teaching since 2005. He works in the area(s) of Social Sciences with an emphasis on Sociology. He is the Coordinator of CARE - Research Center for Health and Social Sciences.
