After my degree in Chemistry I joined the chemical engineering department to carry out a Master degree and a PhD thesis. During this period, I conducted a research stay of six months in one of the European reference centres in thermodynamic studies such as the Molecular Thermodynamics group of the Institute of Chemical and Biological Technology (Portugal), allowing me to expand my knowledge in the field of ionic liquids from fundamental studies. Afterwards, I obtained a postdoctoral fellowship grant under the official postdoctoral program of Xunta de Galicia. This fellowship allowed me to carry out a 2-year postdoctoral stay at the Henry H. Hoyt Laboratory in the Chemical and Biological Engineering Department at Princeton University (EE.UU.). In that period, I acquired knowledge in the field of metabolic engineering to design microorganisms with improved metabolic pathways for higher performance in bioremediation processes of contaminants. During this stay, I was also actively engaged in a project between Princeton University and the TECHNION Institute (Israel) for obtaining biofuels by means of metabolic engineering yeasts and encapsulated cellulose (USA patent 9, 786, 406; Israel patent 241268) funded by the Israel Science Foundation (Grant 165/11). Further, I am collaborating with other international research groups such as that led by Dr. Ulloa from the Department of Biotechnology from Technological Institute of Sonora (ITSON, Mexico), that led by Prof. Stolte from the University of Dresde (Germany) or that led by Prof. Cabeza from the physics department of the University of Coruña (Spain) as reflected in the scientific contributions. Additionally, I was team member of an international project organized by the Florida International University and financed by the EE.UU. National Science Foundation (NSF) in collaboration with several international research groups. The most outstanding scientific-technical achievements are summarized below 1. Scientific contributions: A total of 45 articles published in JCR journals (90% Q1). The relevance of the scientific contributions is based on the development of biocompatible platforms for the extraction of contaminants or added value chemicals and the production of biofuels through in presence of neoteric solvents. 34 communications have been presented at international and national conferences as a means of disseminating and discussing the results obtained. 2. Contributions to the training of young researchers: I was co-directed a PhD doctoral thesis defended at the University of Vigo (April 2021). In addition, 2 final master's projects have been and sixteen end-of-degree projects have been co-directed. Moreover, I perform the role of evaluator in the selection process of the María Zambrano actions for the University of La Laguna (2021 call), as well as member evaluator of the FONCyT evaluator bank (Argentina) from 2017 to present. 3. Contributions to teaching activity: I have attained the I3 certificate by the AEI and the ANECA accreditations as doctor contracted professor, private university professor, doctor assistant professor. I have carried out the teaching activity at the University of Vigo from 2018 to present in various subjects. I was invited to give talks on scientific dissemination within the framework of the Thesis Advances Seminar (2021) in Ciudad Obregón (México) and International Day of Women and Girls in Science, within the framework of the project "Science round trip". Further, I am member of the teaching innovation group in chemical industry processes, petrochemistry and biotechnology from the University of Vigo (IN-PROQUIBIO, 2020-present). 4. Other contributions: I am member of the editorial board of the Journal of Energy, Environmental & Chemical Engineering and Journal of Research in Engineering and Technology. I am active reviewer of scientific articles, special issue editor for Catalysts and review editor for Molecular Liquids at Frontiers in Chemistry
