João Carlos Velosa Pereira holds a PhD in Fibrous Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Beira Interior, having completed in 2025 his thesis entitled “Design and Optimisation of Printed Circuit Boards Reinforced with Natural Fibres Using Computational Finite Element Methods”. He obtained a Master’s degree in Materials Processing and Characterisation (2007) and a Master’s degree in Human Engineering (2018) from the University of Minho, where he had previously completed a Bachelor’s degree in Polymer Engineering in 2003. His academic and scientific career has been marked by a continuous dedication to the study of composite materials, with a particular focus on understanding manufacturing processes and structural optimisation through computational simulation. He has published nine articles in specialised journals, authored two book chapters, and presented fourteen papers at conferences. Throughout his professional career, João Carlos Velosa Pereira has worked in Product Engineering, Innovation, and FMEA moderation, collaborating with various companies, including Bosch Car Multimedia Portugal. In parallel, he has been part of research teams at the University of Minho and the University of Beira Interior, participating in projects funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) dedicated to environmental technologies and fibrous materials. His teaching experience includes serving as an invited lecturer at the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave. Furthermore, he has actively participated in numerous international conferences and congresses, reflecting a strong commitment to scientific and technological dissemination, particularly in the field of sustainable composite materials.
