My name is Inês Araújo Rodrigues, and I obtained my Bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Biochemistry in 2021/01 and 2022/12, respectively, from the NOVA University: Faculty of Sciences and Technology. My work is under the umbrella of Natural sciences with emphasis on Biological Sciences with emphasis on Biochemistry. I have also completed a dedicated Artificial Intelligence course, which included learning artificial intelligence and modelling on a concrete basis of mathematics, machine learning tools and real problem-solving through implementing practical exercises and resolving real-world problems. During my master’s thesis, I gained particular experience in the natural sciences, specifically, ecotoxicology, focused on testing the toxic effect of Particulate Matter (PM) on marine organisms. This project allowed me to participate in various seminars during 2022, including the BTP 2022 international seminaries - Biosystems in Toxicology and Pharmacology, a national seminar from the AMBIENCE project, and the master’s midterm annual dissertation presentation from the chemistry and life sciences departments. I've also participated with a poster at the Portuguese Science Summit - Science and Ocean Beyond the Horizon, 5-7 July, Aveiro University. Additionally, my thesis work will allow me to publish results. I have also participated in workshops such as the JORTEC and UCIBIO from the NOVA University: Faculty of Sciences and Technology. I completed an internship at CEDOC with Dr Filipe Paula, focusing on quantifying VEGF-A serum concentration in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Apart from my academic pursuits, I volunteered at a kindergarten in 2018 and in the FaCiT solidarity race in 2019 and have participated in the FCT's EXPO 2023.
