Silvina Santana is a Full Professor of Business Management Sciences at the Department of Economics, Management, Industrial
Engineering and Tourism, University of Aveiro (UA), Portugal where she serves as the Coordinator of the Scientific Area of
Management and the Director of the Doctoral Program in Business and Economics Sciences. Previously, she worked as an engineer
and consultant in both public and private companies. At the University of Aveiro, she was proponent and Director of the Master
and the Bologna and pre-Bologna Licenciaturas in Management, being responsible for the strategic positioning of the entire
scientific area at its foundation and at its reorganization in 2024. She holds a PhD in Industrial Management (Information
and Knowledge Management), Licenciatura in Industrial Engineering and Management, Licenciatura in Electronics and Telecommunications
Engineering. She is a senior researcher at GOVCOPP and IEETA. She acted as a founder and a member of the Board of the International
Foundation for Integrated Care. Her lifelong interest in all aspects of information and knowledge management coupled with
group and organizational learning set the foundation for her contributions to the research, teaching and technology transfer
fields. A pioneer in the introduction of teaching and research in Knowledge Management and Entrepreneurship in the Portuguese
academy. Dr Santana main teaching activities have included undergraduate and graduate courses in Business Models and Business
Processes, Knowledge Management, Evaluation Methodologies, Information Management, Information Systems in Management, Entrepreneurship,
Health Marketing. Her scientific drives have been information and knowledge management, organizational learning and the adoption,
use and evaluation of ICT/IS and their links with entrepreneurship, innovation, competitiveness and sustainability in any
field of activity. She has worked in business and process modeling; the development of performance assessment methodologies
and tools; intra- and inter- organizational integration; design, implementation and evaluation of community-based health and
social care services and interventions for integrated care; community development; co-creation of multichannel, multi-tools
initiatives for health promotion; new ways of being, learning, working and negotiating supported by the Internet (eBusiness,
eHealth, telemedicine, eLearning, eWork); university-company relationship and technology transfer. She has led University
of Aveiro participation in several EU funded projects (e.g., NET4AGEFRIENDLY, KATCH-e, FOCUS, HOMECARE, EURHOMAP, eTRENDS)
and participated in many others as a researcher.
