Ngoni Courage Shereni is an early career researcher with interests in climate change, climate resilience, sustainable tourism, sustainable Development Goals, Community-Based Natural Resource Management (CBNRM) practices, and biodiversity conservation research. He has published over 20 peer reviewed research outputs and 1 edited book in reputable databases. Dr Shereni has also presented at international conferences across Africa and Europe.. He completed a PhD in Tourism and Hospitality at the University of Johannesburg in South Africa on the 25th of May 2022; a Master of Commerce in Tourism and Hospitality Management at Midlands State University in Zimbabwe on the 1st of December 2015 and a Bachelor of Science in Tourism and Hospitality Management at the University of Zimbabwe on the 1st of December 2009. He also holds a Further Education Trainers’ Diploma from Mutare Polytechnic, Zimbabwe (2014-2015) and an online Climate Friendly Travel Diploma from the Institute of Tourism Studies, Malta (November 2020- June 2022). Currently, he is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of South Africa from 1 January 2026. Previously he held positions as a Postdoctoral research fellow at the Research Centre for Tourism, Sustainability and Well-being at the University of Algarve in Portugal from September 2024 to April 2025 and a Senior Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Johannesburg in South Africa from January 2023 to August 2024.
