Tomás Mendes is from Loulé, Portugal, and has 23 years old. Recently finished is master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Algarve, with a final grade of 17. When he finished his bachelor he received the award "Caixa Geral de Depósitos - Universidade do Algarve", for being the best graduate in the university, during the scholar year of 2019/2020, in the areas of sciences and technologies. He was part of a research project, which was the origin of his master's thesis, named "Intelligent System for Anomaly Detection in Hotels" classified with 18 out of 20, and in the end, he was able to publish a scientific article in the Applied Sciences journal from MDPI publisher. As areas of interest, he has Anomaly Detection and the Optimization of Energy Resources, Machine Learning, Electrical Energy, Transportation, and Distribution grids, Smart Grids, and Renewable Energies. Presently is doing a professional internship at one of the largest IT consulting firms in the world, associated with companies in the Energy and Utilities sector.
