My academic trajectory has fostered a strong interest in the field of Operational Research, particularly in the application of mathematical modelling and optimization techniques to address complex challenges in supply chain design and planning. During my doctoral studies, I attended the NATCOR course in Stochastic Modelling, endorsed by the European Operational Research Society (EURO), at Lancaster University, which further enhanced my methodological expertise. I have actively engaged with the scientific community through participation in two APDIO congresses, where I presented my work in progress and received valuable feedback from peers in the Portuguese Operational Research network. Recently, I published the article “Nesting and scheduling optimization in additive manufacturing systems: Mapping the territory” in Computers & Operations Research, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in the integration of optimization techniques with additive manufacturing. In the academic context, I serve as an invited assistant professor, where I have taught the course Simulation of Operations in the Master’s program in Industrial and Management Engineering. I am currently teaching Operations Management in the Bachelor’s program in Engineering and Industrial Management, further consolidating my teaching experience across different levels of higher education.
