I'm a freshwater ecologist, with a PhD in River Restoration and Management (2023, ISA School of Agriculture, University of Lisbon), preceded by a MSc in Conservation Biology (2015) and a bachelor in Biology (2013), from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. I conduct my research on the ecology and management of river ecosystems and freshwater fish facing multiple stressors, particularly flow and thermal regulation by dams and climate change. I combine field work in rivers and experimental studies on fish behaviour with Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and habitat modelling, which allows me to evaluate impacts on freshwater fish across multiple scales. Currently, I’m a MOPGA postdoctoral fellow (Campus France funded programme) at RiverLy, a French research unit integrated in the Institute National de Recherche pour l'Agriculture, l'Alimentation et l'Environnement (INRAE), studying freshwater fish refuges in the Ain River.
